USGBC welcomes two chapters as integrated regions

Today, we are excited to welcome two USGBC chapters as integrated regions of USGBC National. Welcome to Wisconsin and Iowa! (In June we welcomed Georgia, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, South Carolina, Central Pennsylvania and Oklahoma, and in April we welcomed the USGBC National Capital Region).

This transition comes as part of our exciting chapter network evolution, which is piloting a new model for USGBC chapters and local market engagement. This will provide an exciting opportunity for our local USGBC regions to enhance their operations and focus on the mission-work that really matters.

A nod to the nominees: Learn more about the 2015 Greenest School on Earth candidates

In April we announced that the 2015 Greenest School on Earth is in Pickering, Canada, just outside of Toronto.

Dunbarton High School features a dynamic and engaging waste management program, pollinator protection in the form of bee condominiums, and numerous educational opportunities led and embraced by students and teachers alike.

Green beach read recommendations from USGBC

Summer is in full swing and for many of us that means vacation time is in order. No matter where you choose to unwind, there is no better time to catch up on some reading.

The typical “beach read” is a bestseller, light hearted with a touch of intrigue or a twist. The books that top the annual lists are typically commodities as hot as the sunbaked sand. You just can’t put them down; you devour them and feel sad when the final page has been turned.
